Psychological Therapy
There are times when we are overwhelmed by the challenges we face. This might be due to current situations and/or linked to past experiences and/or trauma. It might then lead to getting stuck in this place, finding it difficult to connect to oneself and others and live ones life in a meaningful way. In these situations, it can sometimes be helpful to explore options and ideas with someone outside the situation. One way of getting support along the journey is to engage in psychological therapy.
My aim is to provide a safe space, to explore, grow and move in the direction that accords with your values. For some it might be easy to trust and connect while for others it might be a big part of what therapy is about.

About me
My first degree was in economics, and I started my working life in business for an international company. Being based in different countries, this taught me about cultures, belonging and the challenges of a competitive work environment. I then followed my passion to learn about mental health in England and have worked in the NHS over 10 years. I completed my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London, graduating in 2013. This enabled me both to work with people across the lifespan and learn about different therapeutic approaches. Since graduating, my work has focused on adults, working both in primary and secondary care.
I am particularly interested in the impact of trauma and the role of power and community on mental wellbeing and distress. Therapeutically, I draw on a variety of models, depending on what brings you to therapy and what your goals are. This includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy and Parts Work. I also draw on Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
